Cl2.

CHLORINE, which comes from the Greek word chloros, which means PALE GREEN, is the chemical element with atomic number 17 and symbol Cl.

It is a halogen, found in the periodic table in group 17. As the chloride ion, which makes up common salt and other compounds, is abundant in nature and necessary to most forms of life, including humans.

In its elemental form, it is a pale green gas about 2.5 times as dense as air. It has a disagreeable suffocating odor and is poisonous. It is a powerful oxidant, and is used in bleaching and disinfectants. It is also used in swimming pools to keep them clean.

Chlorine gas is diatomic with the formula Cl2. It combines readily with nearly all other elements. This element was discovered in 1774 by the Swedish chemist named Carl Wilhelm Scheele. But, its name was given in 1810 by Sir Humphry Davy.

wala lang. gusto ko lang naman mag-share ng some ideas about the Chlorine element. hehehe. marahil may isang tanong na pumasok sa inyong mga isipan, at yun ay kung bakit Chorine nga ba ang di-nescribe ko, o di kaya naman ay kung ano ba ang meron sa Chlorine at naging interesado ako dito?
